War of 1812

William Hull was a brave man involved in the war of 1812,but is well known for his surrender for Great Britain.

Andrew Jackson was not only a U.S military leader but he was also elected president 14 years after the war of 1812.

Robert Ross was an officer  in the war of 1812 and was on Great Britain’s side.

 

Orders in Counsel, a British law asking all ships wanting to trade to stop with a British Port before going to Europe.

Fort McHenery, a place where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the Star Spangled Banner.

 

1,600 deaths were cause for the British Empire and 5,000 causalitys.

8 months and two years is how long the war lasted.

18,the battle started on June 18,1812, but it was a strange battle because there was no winner.

2 sides battling for different rights and Freedoms.

Battle Of Kings Mountain

The Battle of Kings Mountain took place near Blackburn,and Kings Mountain, on Saturday, October 7,1780.The commanders on each side were Patrick Ferguson for the Loyalists, and James Johnson, John Sevier, and William Campbell for the patriots. Patriots ran up the hillside multiple times, and Ferguson was very unwilling to surrender and led a charge in a crowed of bullets and was killed, after that his men tried to surrender but failed.On the Loyalists side 163 men wounded 290 killed and only 58 wounded and 29 killed for the U.S. side.Fun fact was 668 men were captured on Great Britain and 0 for the U.S. It was a great turning point for the South. After 65 long, cold, and sad minutes passed the Loyalists took a major defeat giving the patriots the win. It should be remembered for the patriots bravery.
